What’s the deal with HubSpot Credits? (*cue Seinfeld*)
If you’ve asked yourself this question lately, you’ve come to the right place.
And if you have no idea what I’m talking about…you’re also in the right place! Here’s a quick recap:
HubSpot recently introduced several tools that leverage the power of AI both inside the system and from external sources (such as data pulled from the internet) to accomplish tasks that would otherwise take many hours to accomplish…with amazing results! These tools are essentially like ChatGPT for your HubSpot account.
HubSpot Credits (previously called Breeze Credits) are credits that HubSpot gives its users to spend on these AI tools. Each HubSpot account receives a certain number of credits per month, based on their subscription level.
So if you’re a HubSpot user and you’re considering utilizing any of HubSpot’s AI-powered features—such as Buyer Intent, Customer Agent, or Prospecting Agent—it’s important to understand how these credits work. (And if you’re not a HubSpot user…you just might want to be one by the end of this blog!)
Read on to learn all about recent changes to HubSpot’s credit system, how credits work on the platform, what you can use them for, and some best-use practices to ensure you’re getting the most out of your monthly credit allowance.
Earlier this year, HubSpot rebranded their credits. What were once referred to as Breeze Credits are now HubSpot credits. But the name isn’t the only thing that’s changed.
First, the thing that hasn’t changed: the cost. While each action costs more credits, the cost of the credits themselves has decreased (For example, previously, $30 could get you 100 Breeze credits. With the new system, the same $30 gets you 3,000 HubSpot credits). In the end, the cost ends up being pretty much the same.
Plus, contact and company enrichment is now completely free—credits are no longer needed for these tasks!
In addition, Breeze Customer Agent—HubSpot’s AI agent—is now available to all Hubspot accounts, as are HubSpot Credits. All HubSpot accounts will receive a monthly package of credits—they can then purchase additional credits as needed.
One thing to note: Legacy portals need to have migrated to Core Seats for access to HubSpot credits, so make sure you’ve completed that migration.

In HubSpot’s own words, credits are “a flexible way to pay for certain usage-based features” (in other words, features where you’re billed per action). HubSpot offers its users free monthly credits based on their plan level:
If you use up all your credits, you can purchase add-on credits as needed. View the HubSpot Credits pricing page for current rates (you’ll need to be logged into your HubSpot account to view it). A few other tidbits to know about how HubSpot Credits work:

Credits can be used for a range of features and functionalities in HubSpot, including:
Use Breeze Intelligence for form shortening, data enrichment, and buyer intent, as well as audience building and lead scoring that improve conversion quality. For example, in Content or Marketing Hub, you can use it to enrich and score leads and ultimately route higher-intent buyers to your sales team.
For example, check out this video I put together about how you can use buyer intent for your business:
Breeze Customer Agent can handle your support chats and tickets. For example, in Service Hub Pro or Enterprise, you can use it as a Saas Support Team as such:
Fun fact: Customer Agent is now resolving more than 50% of support conversations for thousands of Service Hub customers!
Utilize credits to automate research or enrichment on key accounts or create workflow actions that trigger Breeze to prep call notes or email drafts.
For example, you can trigger a Breeze action from a deal stage to prep a first-touch email and discovery outline. From there, have your sales reps edit and hit “send.” (In this case, you’d only use up credits on the Breeze action; not on the human action.)
Create credits-based workflow steps for data hygiene, routing, or AI actions that run on records in bulk. For example, you could create a nightly workflow that enriches new or changed records and standardizes company data. Even better, you can set it to run Breeze actions only when fields are missing, saving you on credit spend.
Make your monthly credits last with these strategies:
