Welcome to a new series where we’ll share some of the work we’ve been doing for our clients recently. If you’ve ever wondered what on earth we do all day (besides writing funny out of office messages), this will give you a peek into a day in the life of a digital marketer.
And, in this case, it will give you insight into what we do for our clients as a fractional marketing team.
The first client we’re highlighting in this series is Gemstar® Manufacturing. As their fractional marketing team for the past eight months, we’ve written blogs, created downloadable assets, managed their social media marketing, and run LinkedIn lead generation campaigns, along with helping them build a strong overall marketing strategy.

Gemstar® Manufacturing is an engineering-based solutions provider with 60 years of manufacturing experience and protective packaging knowledge. (Dang, that’s a long time!) They manufacture two main categories of products:
No matter what they’re creating, their work has become known for unmatched precision. And even better, Gemstar® is local! They manufacture right here in Minnesota at their facility in Cannon Falls.

In addition to creating these resources, we’ve also been managing Gemstar®’s social media accounts. The posts we’ve written and designed for them are focused not only on the products they make, but also on their people and how their products and services help their customers grow. And you’re going to want to follow Gemstar® on social media, because they have something especially exciting coming up: An upcoming Antarctic snowsailing expedition will be using their cases! That’s all we can tell you for now 🤫 — you’re going to have to follow along on either their LinkedIn or Facebook page to get all the details and updates when it happens.
To help them bring in more leads, we’ve recently started running LinkedIn lead generation campaigns for a couple of Gemstar® 's sales reps. It’s still early days for these campaigns, but the goal is to help them increase connections and reach new potential clients using conversational direct messages on LinkedIn, like these:
These campaigns are cool because you can target specific industries or roles so you know your messages are going to the people and companies who are most likely to connect with you. And they’re not only cool, they’re effective.
We launched two LinkedIn lead generation campaigns for Gemstar® in the past month—one a few weeks ago, and the other just last week. The results? In just a few weeks, these campaigns have already brought in a collective 66 new connections!
Now that’s a lot of bang for your buck!
